Gratitude
4:31 PM
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don't know something,For it gives you the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times.During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitationsBecause they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challengeBecause it will build your strength and character. Be thankful for your mistakesThey will teach you valuable lessons. Be thankful when you're tired and wearyBecause it means you've made a difference. It is easy to be thankful for the good things.A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.Find a way to be thankful for your troublesand they can become your blessing.

Beijing Olympics 2008
9:45 PM
My tuition kid asked me during tuition just now, "Why the blacks run so fast?". I asked stu yesterday, "They have two categories for the 100m dash event is it?" One for the blacks and one for the whites?'
My answer to my tuition kid, "Cos the blacks race after the cheetahs, leopards and jaguars back home as a form of training." She actually believed me for that second.
Undeniably, the Jamaicans have made their mark on the world map as the fastest running humans ever. In the 100 metres Dash Mens event, a fellow Jamaican sped the 100m within 9s. In the 100 metres Dash Womens, three Jamaican heroines claimed the top three positions. Only the Jamaica flag was raised.
Watching the Olympics bring back fond memories of Sports Day back in school. Of course, what is a school Sports Day compared to Olympics. Still, I'm starting to wonder if there will be any event like Sports Day in the workplace. You might not believe it but I used to be regular participant of 100m dash & long jump and occasional guest participant for 4x100 metres relay. Haha. Laugh all you want.
Oh yes, I'm doing a vote. Should I start to grow my hair long already or keep it short? Dilemma! Help!

Wants
4:11 PM
There're a few things that I want but I can't accede to my own request due to financial limitations right now:
i) a new pair of glasses (my current one is more than 5 yrs old with scratches that make it almost impossible to see through the lenses clearly)
ii) an external hard disk to backup my stuff (esp my tons of photos) in my vulnerable laptop (which I forsee to break down anytime)
iii) a new flip phone (to replace my 3rd lost phone) if possible (but its impossible cos a phone without contract easily cost me 300 bucks or so and I'd just renewed my contract this April)
Hmmm... I guess that's about it. Actually, right now, only the first item is necessary. Come to think of it, I can do without all of them. My old specs can still serve its basic function but nt as well that's all. Not like I have spare cash to spend it on these stuff anyway. They're wants not needs.
And there're a few places I feel like going:
i) Bottlepark for prawn-ing
ii) Is it referred to as Treetop Trekking?
And there're a few things I feel like doing:
i) Learning to drive (can only afford to do theory first)
ii) Continuing with Jap and taking up Thai (not anytime soon i guess)
iii) Doing some voluntary work. Me n cw might be joining some Youth Committee at CC soon.

《一切完美》
4:04 PM
I've just finished watching 《一切完美》from the website roomie passed me cos I didn't catch a single episode when it was aired over Channel U. She kept insisting that it's nice and definitely worth the watch. My final verdict: GOOD. In fact, after watching it, it came to my realization that MediaCorp really keeps shows that are aired over the prime times as 'clean' as possible. Suitable for family. And often you can't help but feel that they have saturated their ideas and plots. There's not much breakthrough content wise and romance are cut down to the minimum. It can be likened to a piece of plasticine that's been kneaded and rolled into different shapes. Many attempts to try out different approaches, different permutation and combination of the same plot. But it's still the same piece of plasticine, the same content.
I guess that's why Singaporeans have started to venture into taiwan/hongkong/korean dramas. Sadly, MediaCorp dramas really pale in comparison these days. Let's discuss romance in dramas. Often, when I watch Taiwanese dramas, they get me wondering why the romance burns stronger in them. Emotions derieved seemed more real and you can 'feel more' for the characters in the show. People talk about 'movie experience', I would coined this the 'drama experience'. No doubt Mediacorp dramas have their fair share of romance but they're never the same. My intial conclusion: Perhaps Taiwan actors/actresses are better looking. However, I've decided against this particular reason. It's not valid for I do not deny that MediaCorp does have its assets of good looking hunks and babes.
My subsequent conclusion: The grass is just greener on the other side as it always is. However, this justification couldn't stand now. 《一切完美》is the first local drama that makes me yearn to witness the blossoming of the romantic relationship shared between Kelly and Alex. I surprised myself with the fact that it was the same kind of anticipation that I had when I watched 《命中注定我爱你》. But still, it did fall short of the latter by a little.
My final conclusion: A good 'drama experience' and a good character 人物朔造 are highly correlated. Pardon me for the use of Chinese out of nowhere. Haha. I couldn't think of more suitable words to express what I mean. These words came to my mind first. Anyhow, Alex's character is appealing and I think the underlying secret lies in the charisma/x-factor that Thomas Ong successfully brings out. Also, due to the fact that this show wasn't aired over prime time, MediaCorp played a tad more around the romance bit. Afterall, romance always has an upper hand in winning audiences. Well, come to think of it, romance is an international language too isn't it? Spoken in different ways and by many different people. It makes you cry, laugh, provoke memories and feelings. It is best at tugging at audiences' heart strings. Now you see the frenzy that's going on with Taiwan dramas? They have both.
To end this off, the following is one of the theme songs of 《一切完美》. Anyone know where I can download it from? It's nice and I'm so gonna sing it the next ktv session.

Stalked!
6:48 PM
Tmd! !?@#$%. Kena followed by a China man on Sunday and in broad daylight somemore! Was on my way home from Hg Mrt and usually I would have to past by Blk 302.
Caught my first glimpse of the man while I was crossing the slope in front of Blk 302. Was still worried that it's hungry ghost festival and there might be joss sticks lying at the sides. But on my right I saw this man crossing as well.. and I thought oh well... I guess it's okie and anyway there was no joss sticks then. And so.. I continued my journey home...
I haboured no suspicion about this man 'cept for the fact that I was feeling a lil uncomfy with him walking behind me. But it's no big deal actually cos I dun fancy the idea of people walking behind me all the while. I'll get very uncomfy and would usually let them pass so that they won't be behind my ass all the time... And so... I decided to change my path very very abruptly in the hope that he'll continue in the original direction he's heading (the direction that I was heading in initially as well). I didn't realli care that I would make it very obvious that I was very irritated cos I was really very irritated !!! GUESS WAD?! The freaking idiot changed his path with me and he did it very abruptly as well! Still... I didn't really suspect anything then. Cos there was this stack of chairs in front, left behind from the Malay Wedding that was held there few days ago. And so.. logically I thought that perhaps he saw me changing my direction and thought that there was blockage in front so he might as well walk the other way as well.
But due to the fact that I still didn't like the idea of him walking behind me, I stopped and pretended to sms. AND he didn't walk past me! He stopped as well! And I think cos he was rather taken aback with my abrupt stop, he stupid-ly held his phone to his ears and pretended to be on the phone. How did I know he was pretending? Cos thru' out he didn't talk at all!!!! Okie... and so i've decided it's time to freak out a bit.
I continued with my acting and started walking slowly again. Tried to steal a glimpse or two from the side to see if he's following but he didn't. Naturally, I thought I was just been over sensitive. But still I started brisk walking when I reached a blind spot where he couldn't see me. I wanted to get to a place with people at least should he really start to follow me again. And... poooFFFF!! Suddenly he appeared beside me!!!!! I didn't know how and I didn't know when. But this time I'm freak out BIG TIME. It's quite obvious he was following me or at least I can confirm he's eccentric and he's right beside me then!
I stopped a second time and pretended I've reach my destination. I acted as if I'm calling my friend and when he walked past me this time I spoke into my phone 'hey! I've reached. Where are you?'. And when he walked past me I could see him looking at me from the side of his stupid eyes. Freak! And he was still 'on his phone' without speaking at all still! Luckily I was standing at the senior citizens' corner and there was a group of uncles there chatting. I even contemplated whether to tell them that someone was following me. And this China man walked over to the other side of the senior citizens' corner and hid behind a potted plant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he was looking at me thru' the potted plant! My block is just opposite but I didn't dare to move la!
Called my younger bro to come down and pick me up. By the time he came the idiotic stalker left. Argh. Scary. If this happened in the night... HOW ?!!!!
Think I should bring pepper spray! haha.
